Landscape Design and Construction

We’ll handle everything from the ground up — literally — from mulch, sod, and soil for a grass lawn upwards to patio covers.  And everything in between, including BBQ islands and secluded getaways.  We’re experts in drought tolerant plantings for Rancho Santa Fe’s climate, but can also design and install irrigation systems.  Our designs can include luxury wooden decks and porches, arbors, pergolas, fire pits, outdoor fireplaces, and so on.  We’ll be happy to start with your design ideas then make them real for perfect outdoor living spaces.

Hardscape, Concrete Driveways and Patios

Properly done, driveways and walkways are an integral part of the appeal of a fine home in Rancho Santa Fe.  Our experts can engineer innovative designs for driveways, walkways, patios, pool decks, and retaining walls that go well beyond the usual.  Materials may include masonry, pavers, flagstone, blue stone, and other natural stone.  Don’t rule out concrete — it doesn’t have to be plain.  Choices include exposed aggregate, pebble and sand finishes, and stamped concrete as well as stained and sealed concrete.

Outdoor Kitchens

Our custom BBQ island designs incorporate all the features you want with materials and style that blend with your home and lawn.  Our custom built services extend to include complete outdoor kitchens.  Choose from grills, ovens, smokers, refrigerators, wine coolers, a sink with counter and storage space, pizza ovens, and more.  After our in-home consultation, our creative designers will match your desires with your space.  You’ll entertain in style without constant trips in and out.

Artificial Turf & Putting Greens

Artificial grass and putting greens are a popular amenity in Rancho Santa Fe that can save thousands of gallons of water per year.  But more importantly today’s premium products are fade resistant and will look great and feel underfoot for many years to come.  They’re ideal for a kids area and for backyard entertaining.  You’ll soon forget the disruptions of maintenance.  And apartment managers, building managers, and HOAs appreciate the cost savings.  Synthetic putting greens are about as good as it gets, whether for your own practice and relaxation or entertaining friends and family at major gatherings.

Outdoor Lighting

With the mild climate of Rancho Santa Fe you can enjoy your yard almost every day of the year… and into the night.  Well designed outdoor lighting and decorative fixtures can make a startling difference by highlighting architectural and landscaping features and setting a mood.  We’re also experts on the practical side such as LED and low-voltage lighting for driveways, paths, steps, decks, and patios.

Rancho Santa Fe History Highlights

Officially a CDP (census designated placed) and not a city, the area began as Rancho San Dieguito (a Mexican land grant).  Then in the 1920s it became a master planned community, designed by architect Lilian Rice.  Despite a population of only 3,117 (2010 census), Rancho Santa Fe was once home to such notables as Bing Crosby, Howard Hughes, and Victor Mature and recently the home of Jenny Craig.
